Through these projects EBX has restored over 100 miles of stream and 10,000 acres of wetlands; reduced over 240 tons of nutrients; and rehabilitated and preserved over 3,700 acres of endangered species habitats.

    Two wetland restoration and banking sites illustrate how EBX was able to provide environmental offset services for clients in both North Carolina and Virginia. EBX provided turn-key solutions which alleviated client risk and capital expenditure.

    Stream and Riparian Buffer Restoration and Banking

    EBX is an authority in stream and riparian buffer restoration. We have completed over 34 miles of stream restoration. Two projects help describe how EBX was able to assist a land developer and a Public Agency in meeting their environmental offset needs.

    EBX Endangered Species Habitat Conservation Banks

    EBX has established two endangered species conservation banks in the Southeast, encompassing almost 2000 acres of important habitat. EBX is proud to be working with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, State natural resource agencies, local land trusts, and conservation organizations to bring endangered species banking to the Southeast.

    “Umbrella” Wetland and Stream Restoration Bank

    In many situations it is advantageous to our clients to aggregate environmental offset demands into what are called “umbrella” banks. EBX recently completed a 3,000 acre bank which mitigated significant stream and wetland impact in North Carolina.
